LinkedIn Invitation to Connect Spam Emails
Today I noticed something a bit strange in my email inbox. 6 invitations to connect with other people on LinkedIn.
There's nothing new about invitations to connect via LinkedIn, but all 6 of these were sent at exactly the same time. Either that's a crazy coincidence, or something is going on...
The email looked like this - nothing different to normal...
When you hover over a link in an email, the status bar at the bottom will tell you where there link is going to take you. Hovering over any link in this email shows the following:
No mention of LinkedIn in that website address!
It's not always easy to tell the spam emails from the legitimate ones but checking the links is the first thing you can test which will give you a rough idea.
